Have you ever heard about Woot? http://www.woot.com/ Woot is a Web site that I personally love. It usually features one deal a day at a great price. New deals start at 1 AM EST. However, sometimes Woot has a thing called a WOOT-OFF where they feature several items one at a time until they are sold out. Also go to the site and find out what a Bag of Crap is... Check this one out, you will not regret it. I have not been compensated for this post beyond the ads on my blog, nor was it requested I write this by anyone, I just love Woot.

Review of my new Sketchers Shape ups

I recently purchased a pair of Sketcher Shape-ups after seeing them online. I did research them first checking out several reviews and videos on youtube. Shape-Ups claim to "Get you in shape without setting foot in a gym". Also it said "Designed to: promote weight loss,tone muscles,improve posture". I have owned and wore my Shape-ups daily for about 3 months now. I do not believe the shoes "Get you in shape without setting foot in a gym", I do however think if you workout they will aid in the workout. As to the weight loss, again if you work out or walk a lot. However, I have seen improvement in my muscle tone and my posture. I also stand about 2 inches taller in these shoes AND they are mega comfortable once you get used to them. on a scale of 1-10 I would give Shape-ups a 7. I was not asked to do this review by Sketchers or anyone else and was not compensated for it beyond ads on my blog. So this is just my opinion, if you don't like it, sue me. But don't walk away with my pair of shoes, get your own.

I am FED UP! I want the Obama Administration prosecuted and I am serious. Enough is enough! The latest ILLEGAL attempt by the White House to push their agenda came on a National Endowment for the Arts conference call. On this August 10, 2009 conference call artists were asked to help support President Obama's agenda. According to White House spokesman Bill Burton, the call was supposed to encourage voluntary participation in a national service initiative by the arts community.Also on this call Yosi Sergant, at the time the NEA's communications director, encouraged the artists to create art to further the president's agenda by promoting the United We Serve campaign and creating art to promote the health care, education and environment al agendas. At another point, Michael Skolnick, Russell Simmons political director , said, "I’m hoping that through this group, and the goal of all this, and the goal of this phone call, is through this group we can create a stronger community amongst ourselves to get involved in things we’re passionate about as we did during the campaign. But to continue to get involved in those things, to support some of the president’s initiatives, but also to do things that we are passionate about and to push the president and push his administration." What is a Conservative to do Now?

The Republican party is in a shambles. Some of the party wants to go more moderate, and the rest want to stick with the conservative principles we have treasured. what happens next? Do we split into 2 parties? The problem with that idea is that neither party would be strong enough to stand up to the Democrats and they would dominate the political spectrum. I think what we need to do is totally return to our conservative principles, and educate the people on the true definition of Conservatism. Conservatism is a political and social term from the Latin verb conservare meaning to save or preserve. In other words, true Conservatives are not willing to change our principles or values, we want to conserve the values of our forefathers, not the "progress with the times" philosophy liberalism teaches. Conservatives believe that the values our ancestors held have value and that morals and principles are worth fighting for. I do not believe that our ancestors made no mistakes and that no improvements can be made. For instance slavery was a HUGE wrong perpetrated by early Americans, and we do need to progress away from ideas like that. This however does not negate the fact that our forefathers did have a lot of good ideas and did a lot of things correctly and we can and should learn from their wisdom. I am not ashamed to stand for traditional conservative values such as the sanctity of marriage,Pro-life, Smaller Government, and Personal responsibility. These are the values that I believe will propel us forward. One last question, this listening tour the Republicans are going on.... who are they listening too?

Then they returned and killed your father, but you caught one as they fled the house. This was for their own religious beliefs, perhaps a random cult ritual. In between your two parents murder, you caught wind of their plans to later kill your spouse, one daughter, one son, plus an Aunt, and a cousin. You had the guy by the throat and you knew full well he has some type of knowledge about the plans to murder your other family members, perhaps even the when and where. And don't say I'd let the police do their job, that is not an option here. But wait!!! There was a T-shirt and a bucket of water beside you. You knew if you used these items against him you could get him to talk, and hence save your spouse, kids, aunt, and cousin's life from the others who were still at large. Be honest!!! You?d have used a baseball bat if you had to, let alone a t-shirt with some water poured over his face, wouldn't you? Your parents that died needlessly, your spouse, your precious kids. That sweet Aunt, your best cousin. These all died in 911. They may not have been yours, but they belonged to somebody. Why were you so silent at the time of the Afghanistan Invasion? It is because you knew it needed to happen, AND you knew if you opposed any act to protect us from future attack you would be ridiculed and rightfully so. Oh but you have been sticking a toe in the water for a few years now, and now that you have got your floaters on, my my, haven't you become brave? I am surprised you haven't defended the terrorists responsible for 911 yet, like a surfer who defends the behavior of a shark by saying he didn't mean it, he was just doing what comes natural for a shark. BINGO. The terrorists are doing what comes natural for them, but unlike a shark, they have a fine mind capable of making decisions at their own free will. A hungry shark is innocent, but dangerous. I am angry And if you support free speech you should be too. I am referring to the recent events at the Miss USA 2009 pageant when Miss California was vilified for having a difference in opinion, convictions and beliefs from most liberals. Are we only allowed to speak our minds when we agree with leftist principles? It has been said by many liberals in the media that if she had just shortened her answer to "I believe it is up to the individual states to decide" that it would have been alright. Well, here is my question, what if she had given a different answer? what if she had said "I believe all people regardless of sexual orientation should have the right to marry" would we have heard about this then? I believe strongly we would not have. Why, you may ask? Because regardless of what you may have heard, conservatives allow people to disagree with them on most issues with out vilifying people and calling them nasty names(as far as the nasty names I am talking about see This video). I am fed up with the double standards from those on the left, according to the way they are treating this, they seem to think we do not have the right to disagree with them. Conservatives need to take a lesson from Miss CA Carrie Prejean and speak out on our principles and values regardless of the cost or we are at risk of losing our right to do so. I am outraged and you should be too! Am I outraged at the AIG people who received bonuses? No, that would be moronic. How can you blame people who have a job with contractual bonuses for accepting them? My anger is toward the congress and the treasury department who made sure these people got there bonuses and then feigned surprise and anger about it. It was Senator Chris Dodd (D- Conn) who added the amendment to the stimulus bill that stated that all contracts signed before 2/11/09 would be honored. And then he had the audacity to act outraged about these bonuses like he did not know!

But the so-called Dodd amendment wasn't the only missed opportunity to deal with executive bonuses. In addition, Democrats dropped an amendment out of the stimulus last month that would have mandated companies paying bonuses over $100,000 face either a 35 percent excise tax on the money or return the cash. The amendment was drafted by Sen. Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, and Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore.

Now the democrats want to impose heavy taxes to recover the bonus money. This sounds a little fishy to me. First they pass a amendment to make sure the bonuses are paid. Then they feign outrage and demand the money be paid back. And finally the want to write a law to tax them to get them back. I do not trust these politicians to write this law, I believe they are going to use this opportunity to write a law that will end up taxing a lot more people than the bail out recipients. In fact, maybe that was the intention all along. I, for one, think it may be time to overthrow our government and start over. VIVA LA REVOLUTION! Well that's just my opinion, if you don't like it, sue me. But don't try to blatantly lie to my face and act like I am dumb enough to believe it.

Tim Berners-Lee, the founder of the World Wide Web, said on Friday that "Surfers on the Internet are at increasing risk from governments and corporations tracking the sites they visit to build up a picture of their activities". His proposal for an information management system at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) 20 years ago led eventually to the World Wide Web.

He was also quoted as saying at an anniversary celebration at CERN that "tracking website visits in this way could build an incredibly detailed profile of who people are and their habits" and "That form of snooping I think is really important to avoid".

Technology now being developed will make it easier to decide who can see material one posts on the Web, and in what circumstances. For instance people may not want prospective employers to see an album of holiday photos, he said.

The Web is not all done, it's just the tip of the iceberg," Berners-Lee said. "I am convinced that the new changes are going to rock the world even more."

One big change that is coming is "linked data," in which individual bits of data are machine-readable, not just the Web pages they appear on.

That would allow users to link readable data to similar data and manipulate it, for instance putting it in spreadsheets or plotting graphs. The sum of human knowledge would then grow exponentially in what Berners-Lee calls the Semantic Web.

Examples would be students accessing data from research institutes, or ordinary people getting hold of government data -- paid for by taxes -- to improve websites.

The system would allow investors to process the data contained in company press releases.

Berners-Lee said the future of the Web was on mobile phones, which already have more browsers than laptops do.

Since when do we investigate law enforcement officers for enforcing the law?? This is ridiculous. A group of Democrat politicians and liberal activists made up of Reps. John Conyers (D-Mich.), Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.), Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), and Robert Scott (D-Va.)as well as liberal activist groups such as National Day Laborer Organizer Network and ACORN launched petition drives and rallies in support of a Federal probe of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office in Arizona posing allegations that the department has violated the civil rights of illegal aliens.

The investigation focuses on Sheriff Joe Arpaio and dozens of officers under his command who were trained through the Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Agreements of Cooperation in Communities to Enhance Safety and Security (ACCESS), which partners federal and local law enforcement to enforce immigration laws. (The Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement division is known popularly as ICE.)

Sheriff Arpaio's efforts to enforce immigration laws have been the focus of previous criticism, but Arpaio has defended his department and the results his ICE-trained officers have netted.

Concerning the DOJ’s investigation, Arpaio told CNSNews.com: “I will not back down. What I am doing is upholding the laws of the state of Arizona, and I will not be persuaded to turn my back on my oath of office as sheriff of this county.”

Two TV stations, WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, MI and WSYX-TV in Columbus, OH, have banned a television special showing how the media is silencing Christians. The stations bowed down to the demands of a handful of homosexual activists and banned the showing of our TV special "Speechless...Silencing the Christians." The one-hour TV special was scheduled to be shown on the stations, but the stations yanked the program after agreeing to run it. AFA was paying for the time.

Oddly enough, the TV special shows how the media censors Christians, which is exactly what these two stations did!

They said the program was "controversial." The stations do not consider showing two lesbians or two homosexuals kissing or getting into bed with each other controversial. The stations do not consider all the profanity they air controversial. They regularly show network programs advocating the homosexual agenda, but those programs are not considered controversial. However, a special showing of Christians being silenced is controversial!

The manager of the Columbus station told AFA the station would not air the program because telling the truth about homosexuality did not represent "positive Christianity." Are we moving to a time in the near future when local pastors whose services are broadcast will be banned because their sermons call the practice of homosexuality a sin?

Democrats in Congress have declared war on prayer, say conservative groups who object to a provision in the stimulus bill that was passed by the House of Representatives last week.

The provision bans money designated for school renovation from being spent on facilities that allow "religious worship." It has ignited a fury among critics who say it violates the First Amendment and is an attempt to prevent religious practice in schools.

According to the bill, which the Democratic-controlled House passed despite unanimous Republican opposition, funds are prohibited from being used for the "modernization, renovation, or repair" of facilities that allow "sectarian instruction, religious worship or a school or department of divinity."

Critics say that could include public schools that permit religious groups to meet on campus. The House provided $20 billion for the infrastructure improvements, of which $6 billion would go to higher education facilities where the limitations would be applied.

"What the government is doing is discriminating against religious viewpoints," said Mathew Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel, a Washington-based nonprofit organization that works to advance religious freedom.

"President Obama's version of faith-based initiatives is to remove the faith from initiative," said Staver, who believes Obama has "a completely different view on faith" from what he said during his presidential campaign.

"He is not the infallible messiah that some thought he would be," Staver said.

Civil liberty groups like the Americans United for Separation of Church and State vehemently defend the stimulus bill's provision, arguing that it in no way violates the Constitution.

"This provision upholds constitutional standards established by the U.S. Supreme Court and in no way affects student groups that meet on public school campuses," said the Barry W. Lynn, executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State.

The American Civil Liberties Union also defends the constitutionality of the restriction, which they say has been the law since 1972.

"It's almost a restatement of what the Constitution requires so there's nothing novel in what the House did in its restriction," said Christopher Anders, senior legislative counsel to the ACLU. "For 37 years, the law of the land is that the government can't pay for buildings that are used for religious purposes."

Not so, says the Traditional Values Coalition, which issued a statement Wednesday charging that Obama is using his stimulus plan to restrict the exercise of religion in public facilities -- a provision it says violates the right to free speech.

"The economic crisis is being used as a pretext to curb religious liberty at institutions of higher learning," said Executive Director Andrea Lafferty.

"We are not asking that federal funding be used to construct a church, but if a campus ministry wants to hold a Bible study or Mass in the student activity building, we should be encouraging that -- not punishing a college for permitting it," she said.

According to some constitutional law experts, any complaint filed against the provision will gain little ground in court.

"Certainly the provision is treating the act of religious organizations differently from the activities of the school itself," Harvard University constitutional law professor Mark Tushnet told FOXNews.com.

"It's not frivolous to say there's a constitutional problem with excluding religious facilities from these grants, but I think the way of the law is in the other direction," he said.

Tushnet cited a 2004 Supreme Court case in which a Washington student lost a college scholarship awarded by the state after it was revealed that he planned to pursue a degree in pastoral ministries. Though the student argued that rescinding the money discriminated on the basis of religion, the court ruled in the state's favor -- declaring that the taxpayer-funded scholarship's restriction is constitutional.

Marissa Mayer,Google's Vice President of Search Product and User Experience, admitted earlier this week that its employees do have the ability to alter search results and rankings. Google used to claim that its search results were completely subjective and determined by a computer algorithm. Google controls well over two-thirds of the US search market's queries and it has not tried to hide a corporate liberal leaning bias. But, now that they have admitted to the ability to control search results, how can we not speculate that they are likely to abuse this power to control the information the public receives. In fact, I submit for your consideration they already have been doing it. It was reported on Kudlow's Money Politic$, that Bruce Bartlett, a columnist on Townhall.com and nationalreview.com, said "For a long time, whenever I would Google myself, the versions of my column on Townhall and National Review would always turn up. But some months ago, I noticed that they had stopped. Of course, one result of this is to reduce the number of hits on conservative web sites, thus reducing their attractiveness for advertisers and lowering their revenue."

Just in case there is any doubts about Google's liberal bias I would like to point out that Google employees gave $207,650 to federal candidates for last year's elections, up from just $250 in 2000 when it was still a start-up. And 98% went to Democrats, the biggest share among top tech donors, according to a new USA TODAY campaign finance analysis.

It is true that Google is a private company and is not obligated to free speech as a government entity would be, however the fact that the company admits to the likelihood of fudging search results is a substantial backtrack on the company’s previous statements. Google rose to capture 60% market share on the false promise of unfettered search results by algorithm. I guess my point is that as long as Google presents it's results as objective that in itself gives them a responsibility to be that way. Anything else is comparable to thought control as they are able to control the information the public is presented with. This is outrageous as it gives them along with the media the ability to control what the public thinks. The internet is supposed to be a place for free thought and unlimited information. This is why I want to recommend all conservatives boycott using Google search. I recommend using ALTA VISTA search instead. Ironically this blog site I post on is a Google company, but hopefully I can use this to draw people using Google away from it. So that is just my opinion, if you don't like it, sue me. Just don't try to control my source of free information for political purposes.

As most of you probably know, Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich was recently arrested and charged with plotting to sell the Senate seat that was vacated by Obama after his election as president, according to a criminal complaint filed by federal prosecutors in Chicago. When asked, President-elect Barack Obama said he was unaware of the criminal investigation into an alleged attempt by Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich to trade an appointment for Obama’s Senate seat for financial gain.

“I had no contact with the governor or his office and so I was not aware of what was happening, ” Obama told reporters today in Chicago. “It’s a sad day for Illinois. Beyond that, I don’t think it’s appropriate to comment.”

I will tell you what I say about that, BULLSH*T! I don't believe for a second Obama did not know Blagojevich was trying to sell the seat. And you want to know why I don't believe it? In a November 24th Interview Rahm Emanuel said that Obama and Blagojevich had discussed the vacancy and who Obama wanted in it. In addition, Blagojevich was recorded saying all Obama wanted to give him in exchange for appointing his choice was appreciation. I submit for your consideration, how did Blagojevich know that is all Obama was willing to give unless he asked? And if he asked, why did Obama not turn him in? In my opinion, Blagojevich did ask for more and to his credit Obama turned him down. But what Obama did NOT do was turn him in as far as we know, that is what Obama should be investigated for in this mess. I think Obama is just as corrupt as the rest of the Chicago politicians. Well that is just my opinion. If you don't like it, I couldn't care less, time will prove Obama is a snake.

About One Billion Dollars. That is the amount that Barack Hussein Obama spent to buy the office of President of the United States According to Politico.com. That amount eclipses the total combined amount spent by Bush AND Kerry in 2004. Some of Obama's top contributors are a little suspicious. Among them are Goldman Sachs,JPMorgan Chase & Co,Citigroup Inc,Morgan Stanley, etc. Do these company names ring a bail for a particular reason? Can you say FEDERAL BAILOUT? Hmmm, Something smells rotten in Denmark. Now lets look at OBAMA’S TROUBLING INTERNET FUND RAISING. Obama’s internet campaign started out innocently enough with basic e-mail networking, lists saved from previous party campaigns and from supporters who visited any of the Obama campaign web sites. Small contributions came in from these sources and the internet campaign staff were more than pleased by the results.

Then, about two months into the campaign the daily contribution intake multiplied. Where was it coming from? One of the web site security monitors began to notice the bulk of the contributions were clearly coming in from overseas internet service providers and at the rate and frequency of transmission it was clear these donations were ‘programmed’ by a very sophisticated user. While the security people were not able to track most of the sources due to firewalls and other blocking devices put on these contributions they were able to collate the number of contributions that were coming in seemingly from individuals but the funds were from only a few credit card accounts and bank electronic funds transfers. The internet service providers (ISP) they were able to trace were from Saudi Arabia , Iran , and other Middle Eastern countries. One of the banks used for fund transfers was also located in Saudi Arabia.

Another concentrated group of donations was traced to a Chinese ISP with a similar pattern of limited credit card charges. It became clear that these donations were very likely coming from sources other than American voters. This was discussed at length within the campaign and the decision was made that none of these donations violated campaign financing laws. It was also decided that it was not the responsibility of the campaign to audit these millions of contributions as to the actual source (specific credit card number or bank transfer account numbers) to insure that none of these internet contributors exceeded the legal maximum donation on a cumulative basis of many small donations. They also found the record keeping was not complete enough to do it anyway.

We have been concerned about the legality of ‘bundling’ contributions after the recent exposure of illegal bundlers but now it appears we may have an even greater problem. I guess we should have been somewhat suspicious when the numbers started to come out. We were told (no proof offered) that the Obama internet contributions were from $10.00 to $25.00 or so. If the $200,000,000 is right, and the average contribution was $15.00, that would mean over 13 million individuals made contributions? That would also be 13 million contributions would need to be processed. How did all that happen?

I believe the Obama campaign’s internet fund raising needs a serious, in depth investigation and audit. It also appears the whole question of internet fund raising needs investigation by the legislature and perhaps new laws to insure it complies not only with the letter of these laws but the spirit as well.

Now let's follow the moolah a bit further. In an Oct. 4, 2008 Toledo Blade article entitled “Hunting Mr. Good Will. WHO is 'Will, Good'?" columnist Jack Kelly revealed that a Mr. Good Will, who Kelly says lists his employer as "Loving" and his profession as "You" — has contributed an astounding 1,000 times to the Barack Obama campaign, all in amounts of $25 or less which add up to $17,375 — far more than the legal limit of $4,600 or $2,300 each for the primary and general election campaigns — 1000 times!

Kelly notes that Kenneth Timmerman, a Newsmax.com columnist, discovered Mr. Good Will after checking no less than 1.4 million individual contributions in the latest Federal Election Commission master file for the Obama campaign.

While Mr. Good Will claimed he was from Austin, Texas, when Kelly called directory assistance, they could find no listing for him.

Then there is Mr. Doodad Prowho, who made 786 contributions for a total of $19,500. Like Mr. Good Will, Mr. Pro lists his employer as "Loving" and his profession as "You." Mr. Pro said he is from Nunda, N.Y. Directory assistance found no listing for him either.

Noting that Obama has raised a whopping $223 million in contributions of less than $200, Kelly wrote that candidates are not required to disclose the names of those who contribute less than $200, and Mr. Obama has not. But he added that the Federal Election Commission does require campaigns to keep a running tally of contributions and to disclose the identity of donors once their total contributions exceed $200.

This is how Timmerman discovered Mr. Good Will and Mr. Doodad Pro.

Timmerman, Kelly writes, was particularly curious about 11,500 contributions from overseas totaling $33.8 million. He adds that Sens. McCain and Hillary Clinton required foreign donors to provide proof of citizenship, yet according to Timmerman the Obama campaign did not.

"More than 1,400 of the overseas entries clearly were U.S. diplomats or military personnel, who gave an APO address," Timmerman wrote. But they accounted for a mere 12 percent of Obama's overseas donors, whose contributions totaled just $201,680.

"In July and August, the head of Nigeria's stock market held a series of pro-Obama fundraisers in Lagos," Timmerman wrote in Newsmax. "At one event, a table for eight went for $16,800. Nigerian press reports claimed sponsors raked in an estimated $900,000."

Kelly added, "Making contributions on credit cards via the Internet — as both Good Will and Doodad Pro did — makes it easier for foreigners to contribute. Web logger Pamela Geller (Atlas Shrugs) reported three Palestinians living in a refugee camp in Gaza tried to donate $33,500 to the Obama campaign last year. They were caught only because the amount was far above the legal limit. If foreigners donate in amounts less than $200, their illegal involvement would be virtually undetectable."

Kelly concluded that were Obama a Republican, "the news media would be demanding he disclose the names of all of his donors — as er, the Republican has done — so we can see if there are among them other Good Wills and Doodad Pros.

"CNN recently sent a reporter to Little Diomede Island, the westernmost part of Alaska (2.4 miles from Russia) to determine whether Sarah Palin had ever been there to see Russia with her own eyes. But CNN — and the rest of the media — have been incurious about the Obama campaign's fund-raising."

Finally there is this. According to The Associated Press, Jerome Corsi, the American author of a best-selling book attacking Barack Obama, is being detained in Kenya where Obama, as the son of a Kenyan father, is a national idol. He is being detained because he does not have a work permit, a senior immigration official said Tuesday.

Corsi, who wrote "The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality," was being held at immigration headquarters in Nairobi after police picked him up from his hotel Tuesday, Carlos Maluta, a senior immigration official in charge of investigations, told The Associated Press. "We still haven't decided what to do with him," Maluta said.

A man wearing a McCain-Palin T-shirt during a Philadelphia celebration on election night was arrested, cuffed and stuffed into a police cruiser, and supporters said it was for no more than wearing the endorsement of the GOP nominees for president and vice-president.

Although the man protested that he didn't want to cause any trouble, officers manhandled and arrested him, the video posted on YouTube shows.

The tape opens explaining that the man was wearing a McCain T-shirt at a street celebration in honor of president-elect Barack Obama's election victory.

The audio says police told the man to leave the area and he declined. At that point, the video picks up.

The video depicts officers holding the man's chest as he says, "I'm not trying to cause any trouble."

The police then shove the man as the Obama crowd jeers.

"You know what? Don't tell him no more. Don't tell him no more. Just lock him up," an officer states.

While the man is standing off to the side of the celebration, two officers grab him and shake him up, twist his arm behind his back and cuff him.

The crowd circles the man, chanting, "Oh-Bah-Mah! Oh-Bah-Mah!"

"This man was arrested for going into a crowd of Obama supporters post-election wearing a John McCain-Sarah Palin T-shirt," the audio explains. "The officers asked him to leave, he refused … then he was assaulted by officers. Now he's being put into a patrol car.

"This is what we can expect, no freedom of speech," the narrator comments.

WND has reported on previous law enforcement crackdowns on opponents of Obama, including a Kansas case in which a man wrote to a woman he met at his church about his opposition and within 15 minutes found police on his doorstep.

WND also reported when prosecutors in Missouri announced plans to crack down on any campaign ads they viewed as wrong about Obama. The prosecutors claimed someone had to set the record straight and they were going to do it. Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt responded by characterizing the public officials' formation of Obama "truth squads" as nothing short of "police state tactics."

"St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch, St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, Jefferson County Sheriff Glenn Boyer, and Obama and the leader of his Missouri campaign Senator Claire McCaskill have attached the stench of police state tactics to the Obama-Biden campaign," said Blunt. "What Senator Obama and his helpers are doing is scandalous beyond words, the party that claims to be the party of Thomas Jefferson is abusing the justice system and offices of public trust to silence political criticism with threats of prosecution and criminal punishment."

Some critics have forecast a crackdown on free speech during the upcoming Obama administration, fueled by Democrats' stated desire to re-adopt the so-called "Fairness Doctrine" that would effectively restrict or eliminate opinion on the broadcast airwaves from radio talk icons like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.

And a hypothetical letter from a "Christian from 2012" released by evangelical leader James Dobson's political activist group Focus on the Family Action warns of an attack on public free speech.

The letter, called "Letter from 2012 in Obama’s America," "looks back" on how "the Bible can no longer be freely preached over radio or television stations when the subject matter includes such 'offensive' doctrines as criticizing homosexual behavior. The Supreme Court agreed that these could be kept off the air as prohibited 'hate speech' that is likely to incite violence and discrimination."

Today is election day and this is my last political contribution to warn you about the dangers of Obama.

NEW YORK – Birthplace, religion, black liberation theology, passport, Pakistan, school expenses and records, house deal, friends, mentors and clients.

These are among the questions that despite months of campaigning for the presidency, thousands of hours in front of reporters and cameras, and hundreds of members of a massive campaign staff, the public still doesn't have fully answered about Illinois Sen. Barack Obama.

Just four years ago, Obama essentially was an unknown state legislator who with the help of the Chicago political system took over a seat in the U.S. Senate. He stated then he was unqualified for national office, but within about two years launched his bid for the White House, knocking off one of the powerhouses of Democratic politics, Sen. Hillary Clinton, in the primaries.

The questions, then, abound as he's proposed giving the United Nations hundreds of billions of dollars, promised 95 percent of Americans a tax cut and pledged to pursue environmental campaigns even if coal companies go bankrupt as a result.

He's also stated the U.S. Supreme Court should have stepped beyond the Constitution and ventured into plans for wealth redistribution, he's told a plumber his goal is just to "spread the wealth," and his wife has said people will need to give up their piece of the pie so that others can have more.

All without answers to key questions.

Among the issues remaining to be explained fully are his acquaintances in his Chicago political career, who include:

* Antoin "Tony" Rezko, an associate of Arab-Syrian descent who was a campaign fundraiser for Obama. Obama returned an estimated $225,000 in Rezko-generated campaign contributions since Obama first ran for Illinois state senate in 1995, but Rezko also assisted when Obama bought a $4 million dream property in Hyde Park. Currently Rezko's a convicted federal felon.

* Professor Edward Said, a Muslim professor at the University of Chicago who was strongly pro-Palestinian and pro-Arab. He promoted Barack and Michelle Obama in the Chicago Arab community. He's deceased.

* Rashid Khalidi, a Muslim professor at the University of Chicago and Columbia University who was funded by Woods Fund grants approved by Obama and unrepentant terrorist William Ayers. Khalidi founded the Arab-American Action Network and is the author of several strongly pro-Paliestinian, anti-Israel books.

* Ali Abunimah, a Palestian-American Muslim journalist who promoted Obama in his writings and was editor of "The Electronic Intifada" of the Arab American Action Network. He claims Obama has modified his pro-Palestinian position.

* Nadhmi Auchi, a Muslim Iraqi billionaire who is the cousin of Saddam Hussein. He wired more than $3 million as a "loan" to Mrs. Rezko when the Obamas purchased their dream property. He's the largest private shareholder of Bank BPH in Paris and was the reputed bagman for Saddam Huseein in the "oil for fuel" U.N. scandal. He was fined $3 million and given a 15-month prison term in France for his involvement in $100 million in illegal commissions in a scandal involving French oil giant Elf Aquitane.

* Aihm Alsammarae, a Muslim Iraqi who is the former Iraqi minister of electricity. He contributed $2,500 to the Obama 2008 campaign and is a close friend of Rezko. He ran a scheme to corner the Iraqi cellular phone market and was sprung from an Iraqi prison in 2006 by a mysterious group of masked and heavily armed men who broke him out of prison. He fled to Chicago.

* Jabir Herert Huhammad, son of Nation of Islam founder Elijah Muhammad, now deceased. Federal prosecutors alleged that Huhammad participated with Abdelhamid Chaib and Rezko in a scheme to use money borrowed from Mutual Bank of Harvey for allegedly fraudulent real estate deals. The bank is owned by Amrish Mahajan, an Indian and CEO of the bank, which lent $3.4 million to Rezko.

* Abdelhamid "Ali" Chaib, a Muslim who is a long-time Rezko associate who ran Crucial Concessions Food Business set up by Jabir Muhammad and allegedly was involved in a $1.32 million partner scheme to securitize loans, in part to assist Jabir Herert Huhammad purchase a pizza franchise that questionably added to the Rezko-Jabir Muhammad food concessions business. Obama returned to Chaib in 2004 a $5,000 campaign contribution made in 2003 to Obama's 2004 U.S. Senate campaign after Chaib's indictment in the alleged Crucial Concessions Food fraud scheme was announced.

* Davis Miner Branhill & Galland. This was the law firm for which Obama worked starting in 1993. While there he represented "Rezmar," a community development firm owned by Tony Rezko and Dan Mahru that bilked low-income community housing projects that borrowed billions for property developments allegedly made fraudently. Eleven of the 30 alleged failed Rezmar properties were in Obama's state senate district.

Then also there are the influences on Obama's career, from the one-time writer of a sex novel, Frank Marshall Davis, to unrepentant terrorist William Ayers, with whom Obama served on boards.

This is significant since voters have only a few years of Obama's U.S. Senate record on which to judge him, and while a state legislator he voted dozens of times "present" in moves that would not reveal support for or opposition to an issue or position.

Among the subjects of those questions are:

* Frank Marshall Davis, a communist poet and journalist from Chicago who moved to Hawaii. He ghost-wrote a pornographic novel titled "Sexual Rebel: Black (Memoirs of a Gash Gourmet)." He also sold drugs from a Chicago-style hot dog stand while Obama and Obama's grandfather were present, according to allegations made by a WND private investigator hired in Hawaii. According to Obama's autobiography, "Dreams from My Father," Davis was a close confident to Obama, influencing Obama's ideas on radical racial relations. He is deceased.

* Malcom X, Stokely Carmichael and Frantz Fanon were three radical, anti-white black rage authors Obama tells readers influenced him as a youth. Black-rage attitudes developed by reading the authors influenced both Obama's decision to become a radical community organizer in Chicago and to join Rev. Jeremiah Wright's black liberation theology Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago.

* Saul Alinksy. Obama's first job in Chicago was to head the Alinsky-influenced Developing Community Project, Inc. Obama also participated in teaching Alinsky-methods of radical income redistribution in classroom settings. Obama's current policies of "distributing wealth" stem from anti-capitalist attitudes developed in studying Alinsky's radical works, such as his seminal book entitled "Rules for Radicals.

* Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Pastor for 20 years while Obama was a practicing member of black liberation theology at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. Obama heard anti-white, black-rage theology from Wright. The first indication Obama was Christian was when he was baptized in his 30s as a member of United Church of Christ. Obama separated from the congregation after Wright became a campaign liability, although Obama has yet to reject black liberation theology.

* William Ayers and Bernardine Dorhn. Members of the SDS-affiliated radical Weather Underground in the 1960s and 1970s. Obama began his political career at Ayers' home in 1995 when running for the Illinois state senate. Obama served with Ayers on two Chicago foundations, the Annenberg Challenge and the Woods Fund, giving millions in grants to radicalized programs in Chicago's schools. Obama now claims to disavow Ayers' radical politicals.

* Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga. He's a Luo tribesman affiliated with Obama's father when Odinga's communist father was Kenya's first vice president after Kenyan independence and Obama's father was a Harvard-educated economist working in the Jomo Kenyatta government. Obama campaigned openly for Odinga for president in 2006 when Obama was in Kenya on a U.S. Senate "fact-finding" mission. Kenya's president Kibaki asked Obama to stop interfering with Kenyan presidential politics. Obama raised an alleged $1 million for Odinga to run for president in Kenya in December 2007, adding to the $1 million raised for Odinga's 2007 presidential campaign by Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi. When Odinga lost the December 2007 presidential election by approximately 233,000 votes, Odinga called for protests which led his Luo tribesmen to murder approximately 1,000 Kikuyu tribesman, displace another 350,000 Kikuyu tribesmen and destroy 800 churches, while not a single mosque was destroyed. Obama helped negotiate a settlement in which Odinga was appointed co-head-of-state and appointed prime minister to end the violence, even after it became publicly disclosed Odinga signed a letter of understanding with radical Muslims in Kenya in return for their votes.

Finally, these are the top questions about Obama that remain unanswered:

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight. I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful. In 2000 and 2004 Sarandon was on the list of celebrities that made the same veiled threats that unfortunately none of them carried out. Also on that list were Jane Fonda, Barbra Streisand, Alec Baldwin, Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, and Robert Redford. this time Heidi Klum and Seal also say they will join the list of celeb expatriates. I would like to extend and offer to all of them and any other celebrities, I will make your travel arrangements for you if you like. Many of these people said they would move to Canada if Bush was re-elected in 2004 but Canadian immigration records show that arrivals from the United States actually slowed in the six months after George Bush's re-election in 2004. Maybe you should consider a move to France or India, both of those places have a thriving movie industry. But, please leave this time, I am really tired of your threats and lies. Yeah. Get out your boxing gloves.

To drive the point home, the bumper sticker also had a yellow ribbon in a red circle with slash through it. This eyesore was surrounded by other left leaning, homages to liberal politicians and philosophies. However, the “Germans” sticker was over-the-top wrong. Seriously. It was incorrect in its implication.

1. Not all Germans believed in Hitler’s philosophy of the “Final Solution.” Many belonged to the Nazi party, which was the ruling government party in Germany. In dictatorships, many people don’t have choices on what they need to “follow.” As terrible as it seems, we’re survivalists and people saved their asses by pledging to a political party with abhorrent leaders.

2. Support for a person or group of people does not imply support of a philosophy. Obviously, this asshat has the luxury of not fighting in the war at the moment, because if his/her butt got shipped off over to Iraq, I bet they’d sure as heck want the support of the American people - namely in the form of Kevlar and bullets. To many, the military is the key to a more prosperous future - an education, job security, a way out of poverty to see the world. Not everyone has the luxury of driving to work everyday at Suburban Square in their crappy billboard of liberal ideas. Some people join the military, regardless of their personal political philosophies. Unfortunately, war involves actions of questionable ethical character, but then you should brandish a bumper sticker about the wrongs of WAR, not of the PEOPLE involved in it.

Seriously, though… just go screw yourself. No matter what erudite and articulate arguments I could present for why that bumper sticker is so freaking wrong it will just come full circle to… screw yourself. And then maybe you should donate some money to the VA and the aging troops from WWII you don’t support who fought so you could have that lameass bumper sticker on your American-made car. Marxist 'mentor' sold drugs with Obama

HONOLULU, Hawaii
– The late Marxist activist Frank Marshall Davis, frequently accompanied by young Barack Obama and his grandfather Stanley Armour Dunham, sold marijuana and cocaine from a "Chicago style" hot dog cart Davis operated near his home on Kuhio Avenue in Waikiki in the early 1970s, WND has established.

A credible source, a well-known resident of Honolulu who spoke at length with WND on condition he not be named, disclosed that Davis was the source of drugs consumed by Obama. Davis was also the author of an autobiographical novel boasting of "swinging" and sex with minors, a copy of which WND obtained from Andrew Walden, a resident of Hilo on the island of Hawaii and publisher of the Hawaii Free Press.

Obama, in his autobiographical book "Dreams from My Father," discloses that he used both marijuana and cocaine as a high school student living with his grandparents in their Honolulu apartment.

The source said that on more than a dozen occasions he purchased "8-balls" consisting of approximately 3.6 grams of cocaine from Davis at the hot dog stand when Obama was present.

"Obama was a young kid, about 14 or 15 years old," the source told WND. "I was told his name was Barry, and there was no doubt Barry knew Davis was selling marijuana and cocaine as well as hot dogs from the stand."

"Barry was also there with an older white gentleman I'm told was Stanley," the source said. "I thought Stanley was Barry's father."

WND has established that Stanley was Stanley Armour Dunham, Obama's grandfather.

"I bought cocaine from Davis at the hot dog stand," the source said. "The first purchase I made was in 1975. In total, I bought 14 purchases of cocaine from Davis. I bought what Davis called an '8-ball' that consisted of about 3.6 grams of cocaine. An '8-ball' cost $300."

As was established in "The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality," Obama lived with his mother and his Indonesian Muslim stepfather, Lolo Soetoro, in Jakarta from 1967 to 1970, when Obama was approximately 6 to 10 years old.

Obama's mother sent him back to Hawaii alone in 1970 to live with his grandparents while she and Obama's sister, Maya, remained in Indonesia to continue living with Soetoro.

Ann Dunham subsequently divorced Soetoro and returned to Hawaii to continue pursuing a master's degree in anthropology from the University of Hawaii.

For a period of three years, Obama lived in what he described as "a small apartment a block away from Punahou," his high school.

Obama's mother returned with Maya to Indonesia to complete her anthropology field work in Indonesia.

Obama reports in his autobiography that he refused to go back to Indonesia to attend the international school there, preferring instead to remain in Hawaii and live with his grandparents in their apartment.

Obama reported that his grandfather at this time had a number of black male friends who "were mostly poker and bridge partners," describing them as "neatly dressed men with hoarse voices and clothes that smelled of cigars, the kind of men for whom everything has its place and who figure they've seen enough not to waste a lot of time talking about it."

Obama then reports that an exception was "a poet named Frank who lived in a dilapidated house in a run-down section of Waikiki."

The WND source confirmed this description matched Frank Marshall Davis's residence on Kuhio Avenue in Waikiki.

In "Unfit for Publication," the 40-page rebuttal the Obama campaign submitted to "The Obama Nation," the Obama campaign admitted for the first time, on page 9, that Frank Marshall Davis was the man Obama had identified in his autobiography as "Frank."

"Unfit for Publication" says under the heading "Reality" that Obama's memoir characterized Davis as a figure from his youth who "fell short" and whose view of race was "incurable," attempting to rebut the charge in "The Obama Nation" that Davis was a mentor to Obama during Obama's teenage years at Punahou.

In "Dreams from My Father," Obama admits his grandfather drank alcohol with Davis, "sharing whiskey with Gramps out of an emptied jelly jar."

Obama also admits in the autobiography that his grandfather took him "downtown to one of his favorite bars, in Honolulu's red-light district."

Both Walden and the WND source on Davis' drug-selling both affirmed that the bar involved was one of several then located in the largely black red-light district on Smith Street, at that time located near Honolulu's Chinatown.

Obama also admits drinking whiskey with Davis, describing in his autobiography that he drove to Waikiki to visit Davis and drink whiskey with him out of plastic cups. On that evening Obama had become upset learning that a black panhandler had approached his grandmother and scared her at a bus stop while she was waiting to go to work.

In the incident, Obama reports "reaching for the bottle, this time pouring my own," while listening to Davis explain that Obama's grandmother was "right to be scared."

Davis told Obama, "She understands that black people have a reason to hate."

In response, Obama said, "The earth shook under my feet, ready to crack open at any moment. I stopped, trying to steady myself, and knew for the first time that I was utterly alone."

Obama also admitted in his autobiography that in his first two years in college at Occidental he was involved with drugs: "I blew a few smoke rings, remembering those years. Pot had helped and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it."

Obama has never disclosed his source for purchasing drugs.

The Telegraph of London reported in August that Davis and Stanley Dunham smoked marijuana together and that Obama was first introduced to Davis by Dunham in 1970, when Obama returned from Indonesia.

Hard core

The Telegraph also documented that Davis was the author of "the hard-core pornographic autobiography published in San Diego in 1968 by Greenleaf Classics under the pseudonym Bob Green."

WND received independent confirmation that Davis was the author of "Sex Rebel: Black (Memoirs of a Gash Gourmet), from an established academic expert on Davis, who wished to remain anonymous.

In a forward to "Sex Rebel," Davis openly discussed that he lived the life of a sexual swinger, writing: "I admit, however, that my sex syndrome may be more complex than that of many swingers and swappers."

He continued to disclose, "Under certain circumstances I am bi-sexual." After enumerating various unusual and scatological sexual techniques he liked, Davis added: "I'm also a voyeur and exhibitionist. Occasionally I am mildly interested in sado-masochism."

Writing as Green, Davis admitted in the foreword that he "often wished" he had two male sex organs to double his sexual pleasure: "As you see, I partake of many of the variations that our Puritans label 'perversions' – a term which to me carries moral judgment and therefore has no place in my erotic vocabulary."

According to Walden, a typical passage beginning on page 274 of "Sex Rebel" describes Davis in November 1958 stalking Kapiolani Park in Waikiki. Davis, writing as Greene, "soon encounters two tourists – a Seattle couple he calls 'Dot' and 'Lloyd.'"

"Lloyd brags to the complete stranger [Davis] about Dot's figure," Walden explained. "After a few minutes of small talk to establish their mutual interest in 'swinging' … Davis then devotes almost all of Chapter 27 to a graphic and detailed description of their three-way sexual encounters over the next few days."

Although "Sex Rebels" is openly discussed as autobiography, Walden notes Davis/Greene frequently changes names and identities, even though Davis/Greene confirms that "all incidents I have described here have been taken from actual experiences."

Madelyn and Stanley Dunham came to Hawaii from Seattle, but there is no way in what is admittedly a fictional book to establish that "Dot" and "Lloyd" from Seattle were the Dunhams.

Soviet activity

On Dec. 5, 1956, Davis appeared in executive session before the U.S. Senate Subcommittee investigating "the scope of Soviet activity in the United States," one of the McCarthy-era committees seeking to expose communists considered to be a security threat.

Invoking his Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination, Davis refused to answer a direct question asking if he was then a communist. A year earlier, in 1955, a Commission on Subversive Activities organized by the government of the Territory of Hawaii identified Davis as a member of the Communist Party USA. The committee singled out for criticism several articles Davis published in the "Communist Honolulu Record" that were critical of the commission.

The commission also found objectionable a 1951 story Davis published, entitled "Hawaii's Plain People Fight White Supremacy," in the November 1951 issue of a New York City communist tabloid.

The two African-American writers Obama mentions to give "Frank" some context both had communist connections as well. Langston Hughes and Richard Wright were the two African-American writers most identified with the Communist Party USA in the 1930s.

Hughes, a prolific writer who was best known for his 1921 poem "The Negro Speaks of Rivers," told the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations in 1953 that he had been a communist sympathizer.

Hughes further testified there was a period of his life when he believed in the Soviet Union's form of government and that books he authored were written to follow the communist line. Wright, best known for his 1940 novel "Native Son," was the Harlem editor of the communist newspaper Daily Worker in 1937.

John Edgar Tidwell, a professor of English at the University of Kansas who produced an anthology of Davis' poems also confirms Davis joined the Communist Party. Tidwell argued Davis' radical poetry and newspaper articles "put him on a collision course" with the House Un-American Activities Committee and the FBI.

In his autobiography, "Livin' the Blues," Davis himself tells of being pursued by the U.S. government, saying it did not bother him.

Openly, he wrote, "I knew I would be described as a Communist, but frankly I had reached the stage where I didn't give a damn. Too many people I respected as Freedom Fighters were listed as Red for me to fear name calling."

Davis wrote, "The genuine Communists I knew as well as others so labeled had one principle in common: to use any and every means to abolish racism." Davis said he wrote to give "the widest possible publicity to the many instances of racism and the dissatisfaction of Afro-American with the status quo."

Number one, despite the Obama campaign referring to McCain as "erratic" all you need to do is check his 40 yr record and it proves McCain is a Stalwart. Also Imagine WHEN another 9\11 type incident happens, do you really want Barack Obama steering the ship? Or would you rather have a military leader who stood his ground for 4 1/2 years as a POW for his men? Even Joe "The Senator" said that Obama's youth and inexperience will invite a crisis. He also said that "The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training", He was referring directly to Obama. The economic crisis will eventually come and go as they all do, But our enemies will not stop coming. Do we really want to wait for the first attack to find out what Obama will do? or do we want to trust in the man with military experience and proven now how in a time of Military crisis? Some of the things Obama has admitted he wants to "Change" go against our very constitution. DEBATE 3: OBAMA’S LIES

Obama Lie #1: Obama falsely stated that Born Alive "said you have to provide lifesaving treatment and that would have helped to undermine Roe v. Wade."

FACT #1: Born Alive Infant Protection Act (BAIPA) simply stated all born alive babies became legally protected persons immediately upon birth, no matter what gestational age and no matter if unwanted abortion survivors. The legislation applied to babies where were completely outside their mothers’ womb and no longer under any jurisdiction of Roe v. Wade.

Obama Lie #2: "And the Illinois Medical Society, the organization of doctors in Illinois, voted against it. Their Hippocratic Oath would have required them to provide care, and there was already a law in the books.”

FACT #2: IL abortion law to this day only protects abortion survivors their abortionist deems fit to live. The potential for subjective assessments in these cases is clear to all but Obama. In fact, Obama opposed closing this loophole by voting against legislation to mandate a second doctor be present at deliveries of all live abortion survivors to independently assess their viability.

During that period, the Attorney General reported that the practice of abandoning infants born alive during late-term abortions was not covered by the law. Jill Stanek and others testified to the practice, and the Illinois Senate heard testimony that suggested that as many as 20% of all late-term abortions resulted in a live birth. Obama lied about the circumstances of the bill; the reason it was being proposed was because existing law was ineffective at protecting infants born alive. (HotAir.com, 10/16)

Obama Lie #3: "I am completely supportive of a ban on late-term abortions, partial-birth or otherwise, as long as there's an exception for the mother's health and life, and this did not contain that exception."

FACT #3: First, Obama is using the phrase "late term" to refer to the third trimester of pregnancy. It has long been established that the great majority of partial-birth abortions are performed in the fifth and sixth months; these are babies developed enough to be born alive (hence the term "partial birth"), but are not "late term" in the sense that the phrase is used by pro-abortion advocates. Secondly, the Supreme Court has defined the term "health" to include, in the abortion context, "all factors -- physical, emotional, psychological, familial and the woman's age -- relevant to the well-being of the patient." Obama Lie #4: "But there surely is some common ground when both those who believe in choice and those who are opposed to abortion can come together" -- for example, by "helping single mothers if they want to choose to keep the baby."

FACT #4: Obama advocates cutting off all federal aid to crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs). Across the nation, CPCs provide all manner of assistance to women who are experiencing crisis pregnancies, and they save the lives of many children. Late in 2007, RHrealitycheck.org, a prominent pro-abortion advocacy website (representing the side hostile to such funding), submitted in writing the following question to the Obama campaign: "Does Sen. Obama support continuing federal funding for crisis pregnancy centers?" The Obama campaign's written response: "No." (NRLC press release, 10/16)

Born Alive Background on Obama

Obama voted against this straightforward human rights legislation 4 times (aside from his "no" counted "present" vote), stating as the sole state senator speaking against it on the Senate floor in 2001 it would be "unconstitutional" to declare very premature abortion survivors persons because "the equal protection clause does not allow somebody to kill a child, and if this is a child, then this would be an anti-abortion statute."

In other words, if premature abortion survivors were declared legal persons, they couldn't be legally "kill[ed]" - Obama's word.

Obama not only opposed IL's BAIPA, he took a leadership role to kill it. His website still contains an ABC News quote from the IL Planned Parenthood CEO at the time stating "Obama approached her" to strategize to defeat BAIPA as well as the Partial Birth Abortion Ban. Barack Obama actually sought out PP to help him defeat a bill protecting abortion survivors.

Finally, for 4 years Obama lied about his record opposing BAIPA. In 2003 he voted against an identical version that passed 98-0 in the U.S. Senate and for which the pro-abortion group NARAL even expressed neutrality.

He then purported several times, as recently as August 16, 2008, that the bills were not identical and he would have supported the IL version had it been the same as the federal version. This was yet another LIE, which Obama's campaign finally had to recant after his actual vote tally from the IL General Assembly archive was posted online.

If you have a cable company DVR box and you do not have a 30 Second Commercial Skip Button, here is how to create one.

1. Press the "cable" button at the top of the remote to put it into Cable Box control mode.

2. Press and hold the "Setup" button until the "Cable" button blinks twice.

3. Type in the code 994. The "Cable" button will blink twice.

4. Press (do not hold) the "Setup" button.

5. Type in the code 00173 for the 30 second skip.

6. Press whatever button on the remote you want to map the skip function to.

(I used the b button).

I tried it on mine and it works. Now for a tip for tweaking your Broadband connection on your PC.

Your PC may not be tuned properly to take full advantage of your full connection speed. For those with high speed connections (faster cable networks, FiOS, etc), tuning your TCP stack is necessary if you wish to fully utilize the available bandwidth in one single download.

The Republican Party was created in 1854 in opposition to the Kansas-Nebraska Act that would have allowed the expansion of slavery into Kansas. Besides opposition to slavery, the new party put forward a progressive vision of modernizing the United States—emphasizing higher education, banking, railroads, industry and cities, while promising free homesteads to farmers. In this way, their economic philosophy was similar to the Whig Party's. Its initial base was in the Northeast and Midwest. The Party nominated Abraham Lincoln and ascended to power in the election of 1860. The party fought for the Union in the American Civil War and presided over Reconstruction.

The party's founding members chose the name "Republican Party" in the mid-1850s in part as an homage to Thomas Jefferson (it was the name initially used by his party).
The name echoed the 1776 republican values of civic virtue and opposition to aristocracy and corruption.The term "Grand Old Party" is a traditional nickname for the Republican Party, and the initialism "G.O.P." is a commonly used designation. But in 1876, Democrats took control of the House, and no further race--based civil rights laws passed until 1957. In 1892, Democrats gained control of the House, the Senate and the White House, and repealed all the Republican-passed civil rights laws. That enabled the Southern Democrats to pass the Jim Crow laws, poll taxes, literacy tests, and so on, in their individual states. Civil rights in the '60s? Only 64 percent of Democrats in Congress voted for the 1964 Civil Rights Act (153 for, 91 against in the House; and 46 for, 21 against in the Senate). But 80 percent of Republicans (136 for, 35 against in the House; and 27 for, 6 against in the Senate) voted for the 1964 Act. What about the reviled, allegedly anti-black, Republican "Southern strategy"? Now, a little piece for all the liberals. The above mentioned items are provable FACTS! Definition of a fact: a piece of information about circumstances that exist or events that have occurred; a statement or assertion of verified information about something that is the case or has happened; a concept whose truth can be proved; "scientific hypotheses are not facts". In other words, do not make fools of yourselves trying to argue this or defend it. I am SICK and TIRED of people calling me a racist for being a Republican or because I will NOT vote for Barack Obama. My feelings for Obama have absolutely nothing to do with his skin color. It is however all about the content of his character and the things he stands for. So quit crying liberals, admit to yourselves what and who you are and deal with it. Or change.

Those of you that know me should have known I would have something to say about this. Joe Wurzelbacher from Toledo, Ohio, has become an unlikely media star after finding himself the focus of the debate between the two Presidential nominees. He is a tradesman who has worked 12-hour shifts for years and now plans to buy his own small plumbing business. The trouble for Joe the plumber is that this would take his earnings to more than $250,000 - making him a target of Obama’s plan to tax the wealthy. Joe pointed this out to Senator Obama as the Democratic candidate campaigned in Toledo last weekend. In that exchange Wurzelbacher asked Obama if he believed in the American Dream. Wurzelbacher said he was about to buy a company that makes more than $250,000 a year and was concerned that Obama would tax him more because of it. what was Obama's response? Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social
Security (FICA) Program. He promised:

1.) That participation in the Program would be
completely voluntary,

2.) That the participants would only have to pay
1% of the first $1,400 of their annual
Incomes into the Program,

3.) That the money the participants elected to put
into the Program would be deductible from
their income for tax purposes each year,

4.) That the money the participants put into the
independent "Trust Fund" rather than into the
general operating fund, and therefore, would
only be used to fund the Social Security
Retirement Program, and no other
Government program, and,

5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees
would never be taxed as income.

Since many people have paid into FICA for years and are
now receiving a Social Security check every month --
and then finding that they are getting taxed on 85% of
the money they paid to the Federal government to "put

general fund so that Congress could spend it?

Today is blog action day and bloggers are asked to blog on poverty. I do not think there is anything I can say about poverty that would put it better than the folks at www.one.org. So I chose to reprint their article here. http://www.one.org/debt_cancellation/

For decades, poor African countries spent billions of dollars repaying debts to donor countries and international financial institutions. Many of these loans were given for political reasons during the Cold War to prop up particular governments and, in many cases, were wasted by corrupt and unaccountable regimes. These large debts became a serious impediment to poverty reduction and economic development. Countries began taking on new loans to repay old ones. Some countries spent more each year to service debt payments than they did on health and education combined.

While the debt crisis is far from over, industrialized countries have taken action to relieve debt burdens in many of the most impoverished countries, and these commitments have proven effective. Debt relief has been extended through two vehicles: the Highly Indebted Poor Country (HIPC) Initiative and the Multilateral Debt Relief Initiative (MDRI). The HIPC Initiative, started in 1996 and enhanced in 1999, cancels most bilateral debt and some multilateral debt for 40 of the most impoverished countries once they adopt economic and governance reform programs supported by the IMF and the World Bank. The HIPC process is designed to ensure that the debt savings are directed to country-owned poverty alleviation priorities.

At the 2005 G8 Summit, G8 leaders, led by the U.S. and the U.K., took further action to broaden debt relief by adopting the MDRI. For those countries that have completed the HIPC process, the MDRI agreement provides 100% debt cancellation of eligible debts that are owed to the World Bank, the IMF and the African Development Bank.

In total, 41 of the most impoverished countries in the world (34 of which are in Africa) are eligible for debt cancellation. For the 33 countries (27 in Africa) that have received debt relief thus far, it has proved to be immensely effective in achieving development objectives:

o Debt relief is estimated to have reduced the debt stock of African Post-Decision Point countries by $86.7 billion, $70 billion of this for African Completion Point countries.
o HIPC and the Multilateral Debt Relief Initiative (MDRI) freed up approximately $2.3 billion in debt service savings in 2007 – funds that can now be used to finance development.
o African countries have used the funds that they no longer spend on debt service to reduce poverty. Partly because of debt cancellation, Post-Decision Point countries increased the share of their government revenues directed to poverty reduction from 37.8% in 2000 to 55.1% in 2007. In absolute terms, this means an increase in poverty-reducing expenditure from $5.8 billion (6.8% of GDP) in 2000 to $20 billion (9.4% of GDP) in 2007- an increase of $14 billion.

Moving Forward

Debt relief has proven itself an effective tool in the fight against poverty. To ensure that the benefits of debt cancellation are fully realized, the following steps should be taken by the international community:

o Donors must mobilize resources to ensure that debt cancellation commitments are implemented and that the resources available for debt cancellation are additional to other development assistance.
o Donors should implement an expanded debt cancellation initiative for poor countries that spend a significant portion of domestic resources servicing debt, but were excluded from debt relief because their debt levels did not meet the HIPC threshold.
o As poor countries continue to look for ways to finance development, new lending may incur additional debts that can threaten the sustainability of past debt cancellation. To preserve the gains from the HIPC and MDRI initiatives, donors should scale up development flows in the form of grants (as opposed to through new loans whenever possible) and do not impose harmful economic conditions.
o The international community should develop a means of arbitrating the origins of debts so that odious and illegitimate debts are dealt with through a fair and transparent process that recognizes creditors’ co-responsibility.
o Finally, the international community needs to address the activities of vulture funds and their impact on development. Vulture funds are private financial institutions that buy outstanding debt owed by an impoverished country to a government or commercial creditor. After buying the debt at a steep discount, vulture funds can take legal action to seek repayment of the original amount and more.

LAS VEGAS (breitbart.com)- Nevada state authorities are raiding the Las Vegas headquarters of an organization that works to get low-income people to vote.

A Nevada secretary of state's office spokesman said Tuesday that investigators are looking for evidence of voter fraud at the office of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, also called ACORN.

No one was at the ACORN office when state agents arrived with a search warrant and began carting records and documents away.

Secretary of State spokesman Bob Walsh says ACORN is accused of submitting multiple voter registrations with false and duplicate names.

The raid comes two months after state and federal authorities formed a task force to pursue election-fraud allegations in Nevada.

In Arab culture and under Islamic law, if your father is a Muslim, so are you. And once a Muslim, always a Muslim. You cannot go back.

In Islamic law, in the event that a Muslim man and his wife are divorced, the children go with the father - the rationale being that it is the father's responsibility to raise the children and ensure that they grow up to be good Muslims. There is no concept, as exists in Jewish thought regarding the Jewishness of the child being dependent on the faith of the mother, wherein a child is automatically Muslim by virtue of the faith of the father.

BTW, check out his voting record in the U.S. Senate. The ADA rated him to the left of Kennedy and Hillary. Yet, the media makes no mention of this.

Obama recently apologized for a sweetheart Chicago real estate deal where he bought a house at a big discount and also bought a neighboring lot for a very small amount. The deal was done with a shady Syrian businessman now under indictment (the Syrian bought the house next door), who brokered the cut-rate deal on Obama's house).

What's even more interesting is that the Syrian is business partners with Elijah Mohammad's son.

Obama's mother was a Muslim-loving and highly unstable wackjob who couldn't care for her son. His half-sister is a very, very lefty high school and university teacher in Hawaii. She really goes for the multiculti and feminist stuff.

Illinois' Democratic Governor Rod Blagojevich is a Barack Obama supporter who levels criticism at the Democratic Party for trying to belittle GOP vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin's experience. According to Blagojevich "The reality is, governors every day have to make decisions for better or for worse. That's part of the job. It's an executive position. And it's a position that is like what you're going to do when you're president."

His description of a legislator is "Legislators, they do different things. They debate and they pass their bills back and forth."

He goes on to say "But governors make decisions, and I think it's a tactical mistake for the Democrats to question Gov. Palin's experience when she's been a governor of a state. I don't think the size of the state is relevant. It's the kinds of decisions you have to make as governor."

Many other Democrat politicians agree with the Illinois Governor that fighting the "experience" battle and giving the opposing party a chance to show the comparison between a Governors job and responsibilities and a Senators job and responsibilities, is a losing argument, and one that Democrats and supporters should steer clear from.

In the United States, governor refers to the chief executive of each state, not directly subordinate to the federal authorities, but the political head of the state.

In the United States a Senator is a member of the Senate which is a a deliberative body, with each state represented by two members, each giving equal representation of their state.

McCain sandbagged the rest of the negotiators by bringing up alternative proposals, McCain himself did not bring up those proposals, according to four independent sources briefed by four different principals inside the meeting, including two Republicans and two Democrats.

"McCain has not attacked the Paulson deal," said a third Republican who was briefed by McCain direclty. "Unlike the [Democrats] in the [White House] meeting, he didn't raise his voice or cause a ruckus. He is urging all sides to come together."

Republicans like John Boehner brought up the concerns of House GOPers and McCain acknowledged hearing about their concerns. And McCain, and staffers, did seek to gauge the level of support of the GOP working group's white paper. The Democrats were left with the impression that McCain endorsed the GOP efforts, but they concede that he did not raise them directly.

The fact is that Boehner doesn't have 100 votes from his conference -- 100 votes that Nancy Pelosi really wants. And that's not McCain's fault."

In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders.

The action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets -- including the New York metropolitan region -- will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans. Fannie Mae officials say they hope to make it a nationwide program by next spring.

Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits.

"Fannie Mae has expanded home ownership for millions of families in the 1990's by reducing down payment requirements," said Franklin D. Raines, Fannie Mae's chairman and chief executive officer. "Yet there remain too many borrowers whose credit is just a notch below what our underwriting has required who have been relegated to paying significantly higher mortgage rates in the so-called subprime market."

Sen. John McCain's record of working with Democrats easily outstrips Sen. Barack Obama's efforts with Republicans, according to an analysis by The Washington Times of their legislative records.

Whether looking at bills they have led on or bills they have signed onto, Mr. McCain has reached across the aisle far more frequently and with more members than Mr. Obama since the latter came to the Senate in 2005.

In fact, by several measures, Mr. McCain has been more likely to team up with Democrats than with members of his own party. Democrats made up 55 percent of his political partners over the last two Congresses, including on the tough issues of campaign finance and global warming. For Mr. Obama, Republicans were only 13 percent of his co-sponsors during his time in the Senate, and he had his biggest bipartisan successes on noncontroversial measures, such as issuing a postage stamp in honor of civil rights icon Rosa Parks.

With calls for change in Washington dominating the campaign, both Mr. Obama, the Democrats' presidential nominee, and Mr. McCain, his Republican opponent, have claimed the mantle of bipartisanship.

But since 2005, Mr. McCain has led as chief sponsor of 82 bills, on which he had 120 Democratic co-sponsors out of 220 total, for an average of 55 percent. He worked with Democrats on 50 of his bills, and of those, 37 times Democrats outnumber Republicans as co-sponsors.
Mr. Obama, meanwhile, sponsored 120 bills, of which Republicans co-sponsored just 26, and on only five bills did Republicans outnumber Democrats. Mr. Obama gained 522 total Democratic co-sponsors but only 75 Republicans, for an average of 13 percent of his co-sponsors.

An Obama campaign spokesman declined to comment on The Times analysis.

McCain campaign surrogate Sen. Lindsey Graham, though, said the numbers expose a difference between the two candidates.

"The number - 55 and 13 - probably shows that one has been more desirous to find common ground than the other. The legislative record of Senator Obama is very thin," said Mr. Graham, South Carolina Republican, who has teamed up with Mr. McCain probably more than any other senator.

The Times study looked at the bills each man introduced as the chief sponsor, and at the bills sponsored by other senators that each man signed onto. The study excluded resolutions and amendments, focusing instead on measures that each man authored and put into the normal legislative process.

Former Sen. James Jeffords of Vermont, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut, all independents, were grouped with Democrats because each caucused with Democrats during the time under study.

Bipartisanship is a frequent issue on the campaign trail, with the McCain camp and surrogates such as Mr. Graham arguing the standard is how often someone takes leadership on an issue in defiance of his own party - a measure by which Mr. Obama falls short and Mr. McCain clearly excels.

He even revels in his stances, telling the audience at a values forum at Saddleback Church in California last month his list is extensive: "Climate change, out-of-control spending, torture." He could have added campaign-finance overhaul, immigration, a patients' bill of rights, gun control and tax cuts as other areas on which he's broken with the majority of his party.

At the same forum, Mr. Obama said his major break with Democrats came on congressional ethics, when he sponsored a bill to curb meals and gifts from lobbyists.

In a memo to reporters, his campaign points to bills he worked on that gained near-unanimous support from both parties, including a bill more than a third of the Senate signed onto, sponsored by Sen. Sam Brownback, Kansas Republican, pushing peace initiatives in Sudan, and a bill sponsored by Sen. Orrin G. Hatch, Utah Republican, on charitable contributions that passed by a voice vote in each chamber.
But foremost, his campaign cites his work teaming up in 2006 with Sen. Richard G. Lugar, Indiana Republican, on the Cooperative Proliferation Detection Act, a noncontroversial measure to secure weapons of mass destruction, and with Sen. Tom Coburn, Oklahoma Republican, to force the administration to create a searchable database to track federal spending grants.

Speaking to reporters during the Republican National Convention earlier this month Obama aide Robert Gibbs said Mr. Lugar and Mr. Coburn would back up Mr. Obama's bipartisanship claims.

Mr. Lugar's spokesman said the senator is not doing interviews on the subject. Mr. Coburn, in an interview, said Mr. Obama is a good senator to work with, but said there's no comparison to Mr. McCain's long record.

"Barack is a great guy, a nice guy, he's a good friend of mine. He has passed two pieces of legislation since he's been in the Senate - had his name on two," Mr. Coburn said. He praised Mr. Obama's staff for the work they did on the spending grants bill, but he said Mr. Obama hasn't gone head-to-head against his leadership when it mattered: "Where have you seen him challenge the status quo?"

Mr. McCain on the campaign trail cites his own frequent Democratic legislative allies such as Mr. Lieberman, with whom he's worked on gun control and global warming; Sen. Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts, who was his partner for immigration and patients' rights; Sen. Russell D. Feingold of Wisconsin, who worked with him on campaign finance; and Sen. Byron Dorgan of North Dakota, who was the top Democrat on the Indian Affairs Committee when Mr. McCain was chairman.

Mr. Feingold, Mr. Dorgan and Mr. Kennedy didn't respond or declined through spokesmen to talk about the issue. Mr. Lieberman, however, has gone in the opposite direction, endorsing Mr. McCain for office and hitting Mr. Obama for failing to live up to his bipartisan claims.

Mr. Graham said it was unfortunate people weren't recognizing their work with Mr. McCain.

"What you've got now is, you've got some people who are afraid to recognize John's bipartisanship because of the nature of the election," Mr. Graham said.

Mr. Graham has teamed up with Mr. McCain on some of his most contentious bills, including the immigration and campaign-finance fights, and said they both have "the scars to prove" they were in the fights.

"I have experienced the price that's been paid to help John do some difficult things since 2004," he said.

Those fights are part of the reason Mr. McCain had trouble securing the Republican presidential nomination, including winning less than 50 percent of Republican primary voters' support, despite clearing the field less than halfway through the primaries.

The Times analysis found Mr. McCain's most frequent Democratic teammates are Mr. Dorgan, with whom he shared leadership of the Indian Affairs Committee and who co-sponsored 23 of Mr. McCain's bills, and Mr. Lieberman, who signed onto 15 McCain bills.

Mr. Obama's most frequent Republican partners were Mr. Lugar, who co-sponsored nine Obama bills, and Sen. Norm Coleman, Minnesota Republican, who signed on to eight of Mr. Obama's measures.

The bill on which Mr. McCain attracted the most support in the past few years was his plan to combat greenhouse-gas emissions. That bill garnered 16 co-sponsors, 14 of whom were Democrats, including Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr., Democrats' vice-presidential nominee. Mr. Obama himself signed onto another of Mr. McCain's global-warming bills.

Mr. Obama's best successes in attracting co-sponsors came on a bill to boost the union's bargaining power with the Federal Aviation Administration, on which all 38 co-sponsors were Democrats, and a bill to issue a postage stamp honoring Mrs. Parks, which garnered 24 Democrats and 14 Republicans.

The Times study didn't look at voting, but Congressional Quarterly conducts annual studies of senators' voting records.

Over his Senate career, Mr. McCain has voted with the majority of Senate Republicans about 85 percent of the time, while in his three years in the Senate Mr. Obama has voted with his party 97 percent of the time.

OBAMA TRIED TO STALL GIS' IRAQ WITHDRAWAL

WHILE campaigning in public for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, Sen. Barack Obama has tried in private to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence.

According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July.

"He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington," Zebari said in an interview.

Obama insisted that Congress should be involved in negotiations on the status of US troops - and that it was in the interests of both sides not to have an agreement negotiated by the Bush administration in its "state of weakness and political confusion."

"However, as an Iraqi, I prefer to have a security agreement that regulates the activities of foreign troops, rather than keeping the matter open." Zebari says.

Though Obama claims the US presence is "illegal," he suddenly remembered that Americans troops were in Iraq within the legal framework of a UN mandate. His advice was that, rather than reach an accord with the "weakened Bush administration," Iraq should seek an extension of the UN mandate.

While in Iraq, Obama also tried to persuade the US commanders, including Gen. David Petraeus, to suggest a "realistic withdrawal date." They declined.

Obama has made many contradictory statements with regard to Iraq. His latest position is that US combat troops should be out by 2010. Yet his effort to delay an agreement would make that withdrawal deadline impossible to meet.

Supposing he wins, Obama's administration wouldn't be fully operational before February - and naming a new ambassador to Baghdad and forming a new negotiation team might take longer still.

By then, Iraq will be in the throes of its own campaign season. Judging by the past two elections, forming a new coalition government may then take three months. So the Iraqi negotiating team might not be in place until next June.

Then, judging by how long the current talks have taken, restarting the process from scratch would leave the two sides needing at least six months to come up with a draft accord. That puts us at May 2010 for when the draft might be submitted to the Iraqi parliament - which might well need another six months to pass it into law.
Thus, the 2010 deadline fixed by Obama is a meaningless concept, thrown in as a sop to his anti-war base.

Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and the Bush administration have a more flexible timetable in mind.

According to Zebari, the envisaged time span is two or three years - departure in 2011 or 2012. That would let Iraq hold its next general election, the third since liberation, and resolve a number of domestic political issues.

Even then, the dates mentioned are only "notional," making the timing and the cadence of withdrawal conditional on realities on the ground as appreciated by both sides.

Iraqi leaders are divided over the US election. Iraqi President Jalal Talabani (whose party is a member of the Socialist International) sees Obama as "a man of the Left" - who, once elected, might change his opposition to Iraq's liberation. Indeed, say Talabani's advisers, a President Obama might be tempted to appropriate the victory that America has already won in Iraq by claiming that his intervention transformed failure into success.

Maliki's advisers have persuaded him that Obama will win - but the prime minister worries about the senator's "political debt to the anti-war lobby" - which is determined to transform Iraq into a disaster to prove that toppling Saddam Hussein was "the biggest strategic blunder in US history."

Other prominent Iraqi leaders, such as Vice President Adel Abdul-Mahdi and Kurdish regional President Massoud Barzani, believe that Sen. John McCain would show "a more realistic approach to Iraqi issues."

Obama has given Iraqis the impression that he doesn't want Iraq to appear anything like a success, let alone a victory, for America. The reason? He fears that the perception of US victory there might revive the Bush Doctrine of "pre-emptive" war - that is, removing a threat before it strikes at America.

Despite some usual equivocations on the subject, Obama rejects pre-emption as a legitimate form of self -defense. To be credible, his foreign-policy philosophy requires Iraq to be seen as a failure, a disaster, a quagmire, a pig with lipstick or any of the other apocalyptic adjectives used by the American defeat industry in the past five years.

Yet Iraq is doing much better than its friends hoped and its enemies feared. The UN mandate will be extended in December, and we may yet get an agreement on the status of forces before President Bush leaves the White House in January.

Remembering 9-11-2001

I remember vividly where I was when it happened. I was home, waiting for a new job to start the following Monday, sitting on the couch watching Bryant Gumbel on the CBS Morning News when he interrupted for a special report on 9/11 at 8:52 A.M. "We understand that there has been a plane crash at the southern tip of Manhattan," Gumbel says. "We don't know if it's a commercial aircraft. We don't know if it's a private aircraft," he says. The next thing I remember is about eleven minutes later watching the second plane hit the towers live on CBS, and realizing as it is hitting this had to be deliberate. I had a terrible sinking feeling in my gut, and I was just bewildered by the fact that we had been attacked on American soil. I am sure the memories and feeling of that day is something we will all carry with us forever. The rest of that day I had a strong desire to defend my country even to the death, and a deep sadness. I wondered if there was going to be a war on American soil and how it would change our lives. I mourned for all the innocent lives lost, not wanting to believe it. I am not ashamed to admit tears streamed down my face several times that day. On top of everything else I had 2 relatives that might have been there I was waiting to hear about. My cousins husband worked in the WTC, and another cousin of mine was a flight attendant for United who I believed had often flown the Logan Intn'l Airport to LAX route(Flight 175) that was flown into the South Tower. I thanked God when I found out they were both alive, but it did little to stop the immense emotional pain caused by all the loss of life that day. I will always remember that day and the pain I felt, I may forgive the ones who caused it, but I will never forget.

OBAMA WILL BRING CHANGE

I agree with Obama, if elected he will bring change. Obama says America needs to change. The values, ideas and principles of our founding fathers must not be good enough, They need to be changed. PEOPLE WAKE UP!! Obama is being very clear on what he thinks and what he will do. He says this country is no good, we need to be more like the socialist, liberal countries of Europe. Now I know he did not directly make some of those comments I attributed to him, after all he is a politician, he can't come out and say anything straight. So I just did exactly what he has been doing to conservatives, I read between his lines, filled in his blanks so I could piece together what he meant. For example he has been saying all along that McCain will be more of Bush, I do not remember McCain saying this, guess Obama just pieced that together for himself. Obama makes it very clear, he wants our government to change our country. In a well hide, little discussed piece published in The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday, September 7, 2005, Bob Williams wrote "The actions and inactions of Gov. Blanco and Mayor Nagin are a national disgrace due to their failure to implement the previously established evacuation plans of the state and city. Gov. Blanco and Mayor Nagin cannot claim that they were surprised by the extent of the damage and the need to evacuate so many people. Detailed written plans were already in place to evacuate more than a million people. The plans projected that 300,000 people would need transportation in the event of a hurricane like Katrina. If the plans had been implemented, thousands of lives would likely have been saved." Much has been done during and since Katrina to keep the public believing the Republican Administration of the federal government was mostly responsible, if not totally responsible for the failings of Katrina. To be clear I am in no way attempting to minimize the responsibility of FEMA or the federal government for the mistakes they made, I am just trying to bring some clarification to a much misunderstood situation as a whole.

I will begin with Mayor Nagin and his atrocities. Mayor Nagin was responsible for giving the order for mandatory evacuation and supervising the actual evacuation: His Office of Emergency Preparedness (not the federal government) must coordinate with the state on elements of evacuation and assist in directing the transportation of evacuees to staging areas. Mayor Nagin had to be encouraged by the governor to contact the National Hurricane Center before he finally, belatedly, issued the order for mandatory evacuation. And sadly, it apparently took a personal call from the president to urge the governor to order the mandatory evacuation.

The city's evacuation plan states: "The city of New Orleans will utilize all available resources to quickly and safely evacuate threatened areas." But even though the city has enough school and transit buses to evacuate 12,000 citizens per fleet run, the mayor did not use them. To compound the problem, the buses were not moved to high ground and were flooded. The plan also states that "special arrangements will be made to evacuate persons unable to transport themselves or who require specific lifesaving assistance. Additional personnel will be recruited to assist in evacuation procedures as needed." This was not done.

The evacuation plan warned that "if an evacuation order is issued without the mechanisms needed to disseminate the information to the affected persons, then we face the possibility of having large numbers of people either stranded and left to the mercy of a storm, or left in an area impacted by toxic materials." That is precisely what happened because of the mayor's failure.

Instead of evacuating the people, the mayor ordered the refugees to the Superdome and Convention Center without adequate security and no provisions for food, water and sanitary conditions. As a result people died, and there was even rape committed, in these facilities. Mayor Nagin failed in his responsibility to provide public safety and to manage the orderly evacuation of the citizens of New Orleans. Now he wants to blame Gov. Blanco and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. In an emergency the first requirement is for the city's emergency center to be linked to the state emergency operations center. This was not done.

Ray Nagin of course built his national standing through his racist, ugly, and untoward remarks about the National Guard who came in and finally began to help those the mayor couldn't, and he was launched into the inner circles of the "civil rights" communities for launching baseless, and patently false accusations against the President. Accusations that were later proven to be untrue when then Governor Blanco's e-mail archives were made public. And to demonstrate that he learned nothing from the experience of Katrina, he and his cohorts were caught hoarding the emergency supplies in the Katrina aftermath.

Now on to the fashion conscious then Gov.Kathleen Blanco. The federal government does not have the authority to intervene in a state emergency without the request of a governor. President Bush declared an emergency prior to Katrina hitting New Orleans, so the only action needed for federal assistance was for Gov. Blanco to request the specific type of assistance she needed. She failed to send a timely request for specific aid.

In addition, unlike the governors of New York, Oklahoma and California in past disasters, Gov. Blanco failed to take charge of the situation and ensure that the state emergency operation facility was in constant contact with Mayor Nagin and FEMA. It is likely that thousands of people died because of the failure of Gov. Blanco to implement the state plan, which mentions the possible need to evacuate up to one million people. The plan clearly gives the governor the authority for declaring an emergency, sending in state resources to the disaster area and requesting necessary federal assistance.

And the reason I referred to the Gov. as "fashion conscious" is this little gem of a story as Bob Orr reported it "As New Orleans was drowning, the staff of Louisiana governor Kathleen Blanco feverishly tried to avoid a public relations disaster. New e-mails just released by Republican congressional investigators show the governor's staff worked to portray her as hands on, in control, and a working executive.

"The White House spin is that this is the state and locals fault," wrote the Chief of Staff, "but the good news is it doesn't appear that many are buying it."

All I can say is as we wait for the results of Gustav, I can only hope and pray that the damage is minimal and that responsibility for any mistakes that may be made is put where it belongs. May God protect the gulf coast residents from this pending storm and may the truth about past mistakes be revealed as Katrina memories resurface.

Fairness Doctrine vs. Freedom of Speech

The "Fairness Doctrine" for those who don't know was a United States FCC regulation requiring broadcast licensees to present controversial issues of public importance in a manner deemed by the FCC to be honest, equitable, and "BALANCED". The FCC's definition of balanced, as well as them saying they had the right to decide what was honest and equitable and what wasn't, is what I have a problem with. The Fairness Doctrine was introduced in the U.S. in 1949 and was applied on a case-by-case basis until 1967 when certain provisions of the doctrine were incorporated into FCC regulations. Liberals will tell you that it was lenient, but in actuality after 67' it become a matter of requiring equal time for opposing views. Even though it is not written that way, it was enforced that way. For instance if you had a conservative radio show you had to present the liberal viewpoint on issues as well. After a couple of Supreme Court decisions on the constitutionality of the doctrine, In August 1987, the FCC abolished the doctrine by a 4-0 vote. It was in the Syracuse Peace Council decision. The FCC stated, "the intrusion by government into the content of programming occasioned by the enforcement of [the Fairness Doctrine] restricts the journalistic freedom of broadcasters ... [and] actually inhibits the presentation of controversial issues of public importance to the detriment of the public and the degradation of the editorial prerogative of broadcast journalists," and suggested that, due to the many media voices in the marketplace, the doctrine be deemed unconstitutional. Now we move ahead to 2008 and in the 109th Congress, Representative Maurice Hinchey introduced legislation "to restore the Fairness Doctrine". H.R. 3302, also known as the "Media Ownership Reform Act" or MORA. It had 16 co-sponsors in Congress. Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, and House Majority Leader, Steny Hoyer, Senator Richard Durbin, and Senator John Kerry are among it's supporters. I strongly believe the Fairness Doctrine was unconstitutional in 1949 and still is today. The First Amendment States " Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” I say the fairness doctrine is restricting free speech. It seems to me that the congress is saying I can not express my opinion and view on an issue over the airwaves without an opposing view being stated. Where is the freedom of speech in this? I did not realize that the framers of our constitution said you can have freedom of speech only if you also present opposing views. What they said was Congress should not Abridge the freedom of speech period. It is so obvious the only reason that only democrats are supporting this issue is that most liberal radio talk shows fail where as there are many successful conservative shows. I say this is market demand, if there was support for liberal talk shows there would be more of them vice-versa for conservative shows. So because the market doesn't support it they want to mandate it? Sounds like socialism and dictatorship to me, "support my views or I will force them on you" is what I hear coming from the left. A recent study by the Media Research Center’s Culture & Media Institute argues that the three main points in support of the Fairness Doctrine – scarcity of the media, corporate censorship of liberal viewpoints, and public interest – are myths. Pelosi, I will fight you tooth and nail before I let you take away my freedom of speech in any form. And that is my opinion whether you like it or not, so far in America I still have the right to state it. If you don't like it, sue me, But do not try and take away my right to free speech.

Modern liberalism is infused with idea that truth is relative

This is, and has always been one of my biggest problems with Liberals. How can you reason with someone who's standards are relative? It seems to me that with most Liberals everything is a shade of gray, that when it comes to right and wrong, there is no black and white. I vehemently disagree, In my opinion, most things are right or wrong period. there is very little shades of gray. As a staunch conservative I just wanted to say thanks. Before this battle for the democratic nomination we republicans had a slim chance of winning the White House this election. We know, and will admit the last 8 years have had a lot of turmoil. People are looking for a change and changing political parties controlling the Presidency seemed like a logical, simple choose for many. But then YOU came in and exposed the democratic politicians weaknesses for us. You managed to show how pathetic you are while undermining Obama at the same time. I almost think the GOP should consider paying off your campaign debt as you gave us a chance at possibly winning the election this November.Now, do not get me wrong, I do think a republican winning this fall has always been the better choice, I just didn't think we had a good chance until the Clinton's assisted us in destroying the democrats.So MCcain 2008! And I never thought I would ever say these words, Keep up the good work Clintons.That is just my opinion, if you don't like it, sue me. Just PLEASE don't ever put a Clinton back in the White House.

Obama sees Dead People

The Democratic "second coming" Obama continued his non-stop
gaffe parade yesterday. Famously he hailed America's
"fallen heroes" noting he saw some in the audience.
"On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line
of fallen heroes -- and I see many of them in the audience
here today -- our sense of patriotism is particularly strong."
Less famously he placed his uncle then serving in the US
military at the liberation of Auschwitz: In World War Two we
didn't have the concept of post traumatic stress syndrome.
People had to basically handle it on their own," he said.
Referring to an uncle who had been one of the first U.S.
troops into Auschwitz, the concentration camp, Obama said:
"The story in the family is he came home and just went up in
the attic."Historians would have told him Auschwitz was not
liberated by U.S. troops but by those of the Soviet Union.
Seems like Hillrod isn't the only Dem canidate who doesn't
know history. As Edmund Burke said "Those who don't know
history are destined to repeat it". I think America needs a
president who has enough experience to have learned from our
history and move forward, not one who see's dead people and
quotes false family histories. Mccain is a true war hero, not
a imagined one. That is just my opinion, if you don't like it
sue me, just don't make me see dead people please!

Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence?
Five signers were captured by the British as traitors and tortured before they died.
Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned.
Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army, another had two sons captured.
Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War.
They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.
What kind of men were they?
Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists. Eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and large plantation owners; men of means, well educated. But they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured.
Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay his debts, and died in rags.
Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him, and poverty was his reward.
Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.
At the battle of Yorktown, Thomas Nelson, Jr., noted that the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt.
Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed. The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.
John Hart was driven from his wife's bedside as she was dying. Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill were laid to waste. For more than a year, he lived in forests and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his children vanished. A few weeks later, he died from exhaustion and a broken heart.
Norris and Livingston suffered similar fates.
Such were the stories and sacrifices of the American Revolution. These were not wild-eyed, rabble-rousing ruffians. They were soft-spoken men of means and education. They had security, but they valued liberty more.
Standing talk straight, and unwavering, they pledged: "For the support of this declaration, with firm reliance on the protection of the divine providence, we mutually pledge to each other, our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor."
They gave you and me a free and independent America. The history books never told you a lot about what happened in the Revolutionary War. We didn't fight just the British. We were British subjects at that time and we fought our own government!
Some of us take these liberties so much for granted, but we shouldn't.
So, take a few minutes while enjoying your Memorial Day Holiday and silently thank these patriots. It's not much to ask for the price they paid. Remember: Freedom is never free!
I hope you will show your support for those who have died defending our freedoms. It's time we get the word out that patriotism is NOT a sin, and Memorial Day has more to it than beer, picnics, and baseball games.
